I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly happening.
